SENIOR MANAGEMENT CERTIFICATE COURSE FOR DISTRICT AND REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLANNERS, PHYSICAL PLANNERS AND WORKS ENGENEERS
In building capacity for local governance and development, the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development (MLGRD), Office of the Head of Local Government Service (OHLGS) and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) in collaboration with the Institute organised the Senior Management Certificate course for Regional and District Planners, Physical Planners and Works Engineers from 17th to 21st April, 2023 at the Institute’s Accra campus.
The course was purposely designed for the participants to improve their competencies, skills, and attitudes towards managing Local Governments (LGs) planning, infrastructure development and management. Also the Senior Management Certificate (SMC) Courses in Planning for Local Development (PLD) and Infrastructure Management (LIM) are to tease out the job expectations of headships of the planning and engineering departments, and provide them with competences to perform their jobs; imbibe in them the abilities to plan, organise, lead and exercise control of their portfolios. |
Collectively, participants agreed that the taught sessions and 'Management in Action' project was interactive and skill focused, which gave them ample time to reflect and exchange ideas in their peer group settings. ILGS is excited to join the partners to advance the prospects of the programme. Participants were awarded certificates after successful completion of the course.
